This is a teaching resource designed for the instruction of Chemistry Didactics for students in a Chemistry Teacher Education Program. It analyzes various theoretical approaches within Subject-Specific Didactics that identify and address the difficulties students face when learning Chemistry.
For the course it was created for, we chose Design-Based Learning as the pedagogical foundation, following a convergent and spiral curriculum structure. The narrative framework was inspired by the film 'Groundhog Day', so you will find numerous allusions that contribute to the atmosphere.
The goal of this material is to encourage future teachers to reflect on the barriers that may hinder their students from learning Chemistry content. In doing so, they will be better equipped to apply this knowledge when developing more effective teaching sequences.
